This Nicaraguan Coffee Won’t Be Around for Long
Grown in the highlands of Matagalpa on La Aurora farm, this limited release coffee comes to us from the Ferrufino family, Nicaraguan coffee farmers with a legacy spanning three generations. Today, Enrique Ferrufino leads the operation, managing all aspects of the farm and continuing the family’s deep connection to coffee.
La Aurora covers 353 hectares of land and runs entirely on hydropower. At the peak of harvest season, the farm provides work to nearly 900 people from the local community. Year-round, the Ferrufino family offers housing, water, food, and security to both their permanent team and seasonal workers.
This washed-process coffee is made up of Caturra, Catuai, and Catimor varieties, grown at 1,600 meters above sea level. It’s part of Nicaragua’s first vertically integrated coffee business: a model that allows the Ferrufinos to manage everything from farm to export to roasting and retail, all within the country they call home.
Our supply of this coffee is limited. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. We’re proud to roast and share it while we can.
